Social management system certification
With the Foundation’s FSSC dedication to assisting in the execution of the United Nations (UN) Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through its UN Global Compact membership, there is a real emphasis on ensuring a baseline degree of social performance in labor relations, civil rights, safety, and health, as well as work and business ethics. The Foundation FSSC aims is to give trust and impact to the Consumer Goods Industry in order to meet this requirement. The availability of the FSSC 24000 certification scheme for CSR management systems (SMS) is critical for companies to create an impact on society and adhere to the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals. Adoption of an SMS is a strategic choice made by a company that may help enhance its overall social performance and provide a solid foundation for social development activities.
FSSC 24000
The FSSC 24000 certification scheme (hereinafter the Scheme) specifies the standards for auditing and certifying an organization‘s social management system (SMS) within the scope of certification. The certificate shows that the organization’s SMS meets the standards of the FSSC 24000 Scheme. The Scheme is based on the normative papers listed below:
- BSI/PAS 24000:2022 – Social management system – Specification
- FSSC 24000 Additional Requirements (determined by the FSSC Board of stakeholders)
FSSC 24000 Scope
The Scheme is designed to audit and certify firms in the manufacturing and processing sectors (food and non-food), as well as their associated service supply.
Social management system
Together with the stakeholders, the Foundation FSSC seeks to have a positive social influence and contribute to the SDGs. Human rights issues appear to be rising rather than decreasing globally. Through the FSSC 24000 Scheme, companies can seek to enhance labor relations, health and safety at work, and work and business ethics through a management system approach that promotes continual development in major social concerns. The FSSC 24000 Social Management Systems certification methodology addresses important core systems. It enables organizations to establish a social management system that helps them improve their overall labor-related social performance and implement due diligence in global supply chain operations.
